Sometimes being an Instagram obsessed beauty blogger can be challenging. But luckily for us, there are geniuses in this world who know how to make our lives easier. And just how do they do that? With technology of course! It’s funny actually, Jye (the boyfriend) and I always talk about random topics like time travel. We often think, hmmm if we went back in time and got asked what the future was like, how would we explain it? Would we even know how to recreate the amazing thing that is technology today? Unlikely. Let’s leave that to the geniuses I say.

Being able to pick up a device that fits in your palm, touch an glass screen and connect with people all over the world is just incredible. It’s amazing how we forget how blessed we really are with technology. There are so many things you can do with technology now days. Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest – just a few of the great ways to connect with the rest of the world.

So, if you’re obsessed with the online world as much as I am, keep reading! I’ve listed off a few of my all time favourite apps to help grow your Instagram, increase the quality of your photos and engage with the blogging community.

Pinterest App

I swear I am on Pinterest 24/7. Pinning swatches, blog posts, flat lay inspiration – I love it. I’m sure that I’ve mentioned Pinterest 100 times already in my blog posts so I won’t ramble on about it. It’s just the perfect platform for inspiration for well.. anything! Recipes, blog ideas, photography inspiration, it’s all there!

I’ve been using this app for a while now and absolutely love it. It’s perfect for creating graphics & adding text to your images; I like to use it for creating my giveaway images for Instagram. There is also a huge library full of amazing quotes & pre-made graphics. Oh and this app is free, ka-ching!

Facetune App

This would have to be my favourite editing app on my phone actually. The whitening tool is perfect for highlighting & brightening white backgrounds. You can also sharpen images, remove the dreaded red eye, defocus areas, apply filters and much more. For a small fee, Facetune is definitely worth the buy.

One of the most commonly known editing apps on the market – VSCO. With a wide range of preset filters, it doesn’t matter if you’re an editing newbie because VSCO makes life easy. A lot of the greatest Instagram accounts with “themes” use this app to give them that dreamy vibe. Pinterest has so many great theme ideas – drop over and check them out!

Watermark App

If you’re not really into Photoshop or can’t afford the cost, then this app is perfect for you. Pick your font, type your text and add the watermark to your photos. I prefer the Photoshop method as this is where I do majority of my editing but the app is great for on the go! You can check out my tutorial on how to create a watermark in Photoshop heretoo!

An app that lets you plan out your Instagram feed that doesn’t cost a cent? Um, yes please. I am seriously obsessed with this app, it’s probably my most used to be honest. Any time I complete a set of new images I upload them straight to UNUM. Simply hold your finger on each photo and move them around the grid. It’s laid out just like your normal Instagram feed & you can even view your current feed with it. Just trust me, download it.

Iconosquare App

To help grow your Instagram account, I highly recommend trying out Iconosquare. They have a free trial period where you can see if you like it or not. You can view your engagement rate, likes and comments received and track a heap more statistics. It’ll even show you which posts have done better than others and your best hashtags. This app has really helped me target the right audience on Instagram and increase engagement.

Google Drive
After editing my photos on my computer, I copy all my final copies into my Google Drive folder. The app on my phone is so handy and perfect for on the go. Plus it doesn’t kill the quality of my photos like Facebook does! So the photo you see on Instagram is just as clear as SOOC (straight out of camera). Hooray!

Of course there are many more great apps that I use but these are my absolute must-haves.
