Best Restorative Products for Chemically Damaged Hair!
Just recently, I went from a number two brunette—that’s almost black hair—to a platinum blonde, in just three weeks.
There was bleach. Lots of it. On multiple occasions. Bleach is a natural decision when you think about how much box-dye build up I had to get out of my naturally light brown hair.
I know—how do I even have any hair left on my head? How has it not fallen to the floor like those delicious crispy fried noodles you can buy to top salads with?
Well, as well as bleach, there was an entire marching band of hair products designed you help restore extremely chemically damaged hair back to its normal state.
Below are a few of my favourite products at the moment that have, literally, put the life back into my newly platinum strands.
- Olaplex No.3 hair Perfector – Adore Beauty, $49.95
Olaplex has been all the rage for the last two years, and after one use with this baby, I can already see why. Not only does it leave my hair feeling fab and fresh (and less frizzy!), it smells good, and can be left in your hair for up to 24 hours for the best results.
But remember, it is designed to be washed out so don’t forget to use it before the next time you wash your hair.
2. Fanola No Yellow Shampoo – AMR Hair & Beauty, $39.90
This product will leave your hair soft, smooth and toned! For icy blondes, this takes out any yellow tones and blends any warm spots into the rest of your hair to keep you looking even.
Leave in for 15-20 minutes for the best results.
3. Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque – Priceline, $34.00
This tub of sweet smelling macadamia oil has left my hair softer than ever. After one use, my hair feels softer, looks healthier and I’ve had far less breakage on my ends than I have since I was six.
Leave in as long as you want and massage into the driest parts of your hair to leave your hair feeling brand new.
These are just three of my favourites, but anything treatment-based and full of protein will definitely keep your hair as healthy as it can amidst all the bleaching and dying we put our poor strands through.
So, while some of these products might be a bit pricey, trust me when I say investing in your hair is something you’ll never regret.
